And it made me think about the Bears’ development of Justin Fields. I stopped in my tracks when Dan Orlovsky, who was discussing the Philadelphia Eagles’ struggles, said something along the lines of you don’t make explosive games with just the straight drop-back game. There was a moment on Thursday evening while I was making chicken soup in the kitchen when I had ESPN on in the background.Thinking about the Lions trying to price their OC into sticking around while also preparing to raise season-ticket prices ( as we discussed in yesterday’s set of Bullets) made me chuckle.I must say that’s a pretty clever hit job. ![]() This, to me, suggests that this was a put-on by the Lions ownership/management in an attempt to (1) scare teams off and keep Johnson by floating an astronomical asking price and (2) artificially keep coaching salaries down. ![]() Except Johnson’s representation came out with a pretty strong denial of the report. It is the kind of report that, when I saw it, felt like an agent plant.
